Act as an emergency warden: respond to an alarm, direct an evacuation, and operate as part of the emergency control organisation.
Wardens work under the chief warden. Know your area, your communication method and the muster point before an emergency, not during one.
On alarm, calmly direct people to the nearest safe exit and on to the assembly area. Sweep your area, close doors behind you, and never use lifts.
Only fight a small fire if it is safe and you have an exit at your back. Use PASS: Pull the pin, Aim at the base, Squeeze the handle, Sweep side to side.
At the assembly area, account for everyone against the sign-on, report missing persons to the chief warden, and do not let anyone re-enter until the all clear.
