Operate a boom-type elevating work platform over 11 metres: pre-start checks, safe positioning, and emergency lowering.
Walk around the machine, check tyres, fluids, controls, harness anchor and emergency stop. Record the pre-start in the log book and tag out any defect.
Check ground bearing, slope and penetrations before setting up. Maintain safe approach distances from powerlines and overhead structures at all times.
Wear a harness with a short lanyard to the anchor point. Never exceed the platform rated capacity, and never climb or reach outside the basket.
Know the ground-level emergency controls before you go up. A second trained person at ground level must be able to lower the platform if the operator cannot.
