Work safely at heights: select and inspect fall protection, set up exclusion zones, and respond to a fall arrest.
Eliminate the need to work at height first. If you cannot, use passive controls (guard rails), then fall arrest systems, and administrative controls last.
Inspect webbing, stitching and hardware before every use. A correctly fitted harness is snug with the D-ring between the shoulder blades and leg straps firm.
Only attach to a rated anchor point. Establish exclusion zones below the work area so nobody is struck by dropped objects or a falling worker.
A worker hanging in a harness after a fall must be rescued quickly. Have a rescue plan and equipment ready before work starts, not after a fall.
